what is happening with black women?

Okay - this is my first posting on my new blogsite. Inspired by Uncle Carl and helped by him and Russell, here I go:

On one hand we have a serious issue with the white boys at Duke who raped a black stripper. This was first brought to my attention by a student who heard it discussed on the Tom Joyner show. Today I read a brief article practically buried in the middle of the NYTimes. Why isn't that front page news? I have to look at the Post and see where they put it or if it's there at all. Yeah okay they were strippers (I think there were two but not sure if one got raped or both) and duh, they should have known better than to do that with some drunk white frat guys but whatever their behavior, it certainly was not an invitation to be raped. Are these guys going to be charged? Will Duke step up to the plate and insist on it and expel them, etc? - stay tuned.

On the other, far removed hand, we have Naomi Campbell who does not seem to have been helped at all by her anger management classes, if she in fact attended any. She hit another assistant with another cell phone. Or actually she threw the phone at another assistant. What is it with throwing cell phones? I'm not understanding that at all. The woman needed four stitches. Naomi's lawyer says she's just being spiteful because Naomi was about to fire her. That was the same argument with the last similar situation. Naomi seemed so innocent and sweet when she was interviewing Iman on Oprah a few weeks ago. (And oh, that reminds me - she apparently was incensed at the assistant when she couldn't find the jeans she wanted to wear to that Oprah appearance.)
